Since President Jimmy Carter created National Grandparents Day in 1978, we celebrate and honor our grandparents and those who are "our continuing tie to the near-past, to the events and beliefs and experiences that so strongly affect our lives and the world around us" the first Sunday after Labor Day.
Transitional Assistance and Design, one of the Washington, DC region's longest-serving company of Senior Move Management professionals, encourages people of all ages to celebrate and honor their grandparents today and throughout this week.

Transitional Assistance and Design recently partnered with Wish of a Lifetime, a not-for-profit foundation created by two-time Olympian and former NLF football player Jeremy Bloom. Bloom started the charity in honor of his grandmother, Donna Wheeler, who provided him with inspiration during his athletic and professional career. Transitional Assistance and Design and Wish of a Lifetime raise funds to grant lifelong wishes to deserving seniors who have made so many sacrifices yet asked for nothing in return.
