Eight-year-old isn't injured, according to police.

An 8-year-old boy was struck by a car but uninjured last week in an accident on River Road in Bethesda, according to Montgomery County Police.

Police responded to a report of a pedestrian accident around 8:32 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 11, according to police spokeswoman Officer Janelle Smith.

The accident happened near River Road and Willard Avenue.

The driver of the car that struck the boy stayed on the scene, Smith said.

Lucky kid and good for the driver for staying at least. I live near that intersection, and occasionally walk or ride my bike over there. It's scary as hell for an adult, let alone a kid.

Actually, the child did get injured, although not very seriously and the driver initially did not stop. Another parent had to chase the car to get the driver to stop.

Ok, that's a completely different story. Very glad the kid is doing ok. And I stand by, that's a really dangerous intersection.
