Celebrate July 4 With Fireworks Displays Close to Home

Montgomery County and local cities host seven Independence Day celebrations.

The D.C.-metro area doesn’t disappoint residents when it comes to fireworks options celebrating the Fourth of July.

Montgomery County will host two fireworks displays this year, “Germantown Glory” and “Mid-County Sparkles.”

Germantown Glory will kick off at 7 p.m. at the Germantown SoccerPlex with a concert by Bobby and the Believers. Fireworks will follow at approximately 9:15 p.m. The location will have free parking.

Mid-County Sparkles will begin with a concert by Quiet Fire Soul at 7:30 p.m. at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington. Fireworks will follow at approximately 9:15 p.m. No on-site parking will be available, but a shuttle will pick up passengers from Westfield Wheaton Metro Parking Garage beginning at 6:15 p.m.

In addition to the two county shows, the cities of Gaithersburg, Rockville and Takoma Park, and Poolesville will also host fireworks displays.

Of course, if you’re looking for a more spectacular spectacle, you could always brave the crowds and head into D.C. for the national celebration.
