Churchill Highlights: Pink Homecoming Month at Churchill
Members of the Churchill Cheerleading team came out to support both the Girls and Boys Varsity Soccer Games on Thursday, Oct. 11. Girls Varsity Soccer participated in a fundraising program with Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Kimmel Cancer Center called "Red Card Cancer," which unites the global power of soccer in the fight against cancer.

Churchill wore white and red jerseys at this game as part of the "Red Card Cancer" program that raises funds through soccer for cancer research and cures. Many of Churchill's fall teams are participating in activities that support fundraising for all types of cancer as part of Churchill's month-long Pink Homecoming activities, a cooperative effort of the CHS Athletic Department, Booster Club and Student Government Association.
The Boys Varsity team arrived at the Churchill stadium to begin warm-ups and catch the end of the Girls Varsity game on Oct. 11. Both teams played Wootton at home. The boys were decked out in pink socks and shoelaces as part of Churchill's month-long Pink Homecoming initiative, whereby fall teams, in conjunction with the CHS Athletic Department, Booster Club and Student Government Association, work to raise awareness and funds for all types of cancer research. Boys Varsity Soccer raffled a pink soccer ball and raised $242, which will be donated to the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFRC).
