Details Emerge In Victory Lane Shooting

A Poolesville man was charged with attempted murder; two other males may have been involved

Two other males may have been involved in an Easter Sunday shooting in Potomac that left one man wounded and led to the arrest of a Poolesville teen, Montgomery County District Court records show.

DeAngelo Jackson, 19, of the 19500 block of Jerusalem Church Terrace, is being held without bail on charges of attempted first-degree murder and several related offenses, Montgomery County Police said in a statement Wednesday.

Montgomery County Police responded to reports of shots fired at a home in the 8500 block of Victory Lane on April 8, at 11:42 p.m.

Police alleged in court documents that three males — two of them armed — rang the doorbell and pushed their way inside when a resident answered.

It was Jackson, police allege, who pistol-whipped a 21-year-old resident who answered the door, proceeding to shoot him in the abdomen and in his lung, the court records state.

Then as the wounded man ran up a stairwell, police alleged, he was shot in the rear and on the left side of his body.

The three males left the scene in a white sedan with tinted windows, the court documents state.

The shooting victim was treated at Suburban Hospital and has since been released, police said.

Jackson was charged attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and several firearms-related charges.

Jackson has requested a preliminary hearing and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery County District Court on Friday, May 11.
