Potomac Debuts 'My Fair Lady' Friday
The Potomac Theatre Company will kick off its 2012-2013 season this weekend.
The Potomac Theatre Company begins its 2012-2013 season with a makeover, presenting the famed Broadway musical "My Fair Lady."
Starring Ken Kemp as Henry Higgins and Mary Schmidt Wakefield as Eliza Doolittle, and directed by Kevin Sockwell, the show tells a classic story of a young Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from an arrogant phoneticist in order to pass as an English lady.
Based on George Bernard Shaw's play "Pygmalion," "My Fair Lady" features classic songs, including "Loverly," "I Could Have Danced All Night," and "Get Me to the Church On Time.” A live orchestra under the direction of Ronald Isaacson will help bring the show to life at the Blair Family Center for the Arts at Bullis School.
The show runs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 16 – Nov. 25. For reservations call (301) 299-8571.
