Potomac Farm Market Opens New Stand in North Potomac

This new farmers market features fresh locally grown produce.

Two weeks ago, Potomac Farm Market opened a new produce stand North Potomac, only about 10 miles from the farm

Located next to Sunoco and Safeway at 12311 Darnestown Road, the North Potomac location brings a vacant parking space to life.

Potomac Farm Market stocks its stand with fresh, locally grown summer produce like corn, tomatoes, melons, peaches, summer squash, cucumbers and peppers.

It's main location is the Potomac stand, which is located at 9035 Congressional Pkwy. Potomac Farm Market now has eight locations. To see all locations, check out it's website.

The stand is stocked in the morning and not replenished, so arrive early for your fresh ears of corn or they may be sold out.

Starting sometime next week, the farmers market projects to have eggplant, plums and some other new seasonal produce.

"Also within the next week or two," said Potomac Farm Market employee, Seth Tobar, "we'll be getting our corn from Poolesville."

According to Jack Talley, general manager of Potomac Farm Market, the market is here for the duration. That's good news for locals who like their produce close to home.

"In the fall we'll be bringing in apples, squash, pumpkins and, come Christmas, we'll be selling Christmas trees," he said.

Potomac Farm Market is open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
