Potomac Pilates to Open in Chevy Chase
Friendship Heights fitness aficionados will have new exercise options by the end of the year.
Exercise options in Friendship Heights are set to diversify later this year when Potomac Pilates opens its third studio at The Shops at Wisconsin Place.
The studio—which combines equipment-based Pilates classes with ballet-inspired workout classes—opened its first doors in Potomac nearly seven years ago, and opened its second location in the Palisades neighborhood of Washington, DC, earlier this summer, according to Catherine Calabrese, vice president of marketing for Potomac Pilates.
"Owner Reina Pratt had a passion for fitness and health. ... [With] an MBA from George Washington University and [having taught] Pilates for 10 years, she was driven to become a thriving female business owner," Calabrese said.
Pratt's business partner, Mary Farber, is "a legendary fitness enthusiast in the Potomac/Bethesda area. She has helped remodel classic Pilates exercises and develop a ... unique and innovative way to teach classes"—picture a "Beverly Hills workout experience," a statement from the studio added.
New Potomac Pilates clients can get one month of unlimited classes for $99.
After that, unlimited Pilates and BeyondBarre classes are $299 a month. Unlimited Pilates classes are $199 a month, and unlimited BeyondBarre classes are $149 a month. "Happy Hour Membership" includes unlimited classes in both Pilates and BeyondBarre between 1 and 4:30 p.m for $139 a month. Single classes are also available.
