Quadruplet Goats Born at Potomac Petting Zoo

Squeals on Wheels now has quadruplet goat babies.

Squeals on Wheels, a petting zoo in Potomac, is welcoming some new additions to its family: four quadruplet baby goats born Feb. 27.

Quadruplet baby goats are rare, said Jill Phillips, who runs the with her husband, John. The quadruplets were named Prancer, Pumpkin, Peanut and Patch — a name Potomac Patch is particularly fond of.

"Our veterinarian, who has specialized in working with goats for 40 years, said this is only the second time they've seen a set of quadruplets," Phillips said.

And the family keeps getting bigger. The four baby goats are in addition to a set of twins that were born on Feb. 12, Phillips said. The quadruplets and twins have different mothers, but the same father, she added.

Squeals on Wheels now has a total of 11 goats and about 60 other animals for the petting zoo including horses, alpacas, rabbits, other farm animals and exotic reptiles.
