Check out our calendar for more of the weekend events.
The fall installment of Potomac’s Romanian Food Festival kicks off this weekend at the Saint Andrew Romanian Orthodox Church.
Visitors will be greeted with homemade food -- from stuffed cabbage rolls to sausages and desserts – Romanian drinks, live dance performances, cultural presentations and kids activities.
The festival opens at 4 p.m. Friday and closes at 7 p.m. It will open Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. A one-time fee allowing entrance all weekend is $5 for adults and $3 for kids.
This is the first year the festival stretches three days. Organizers are hoping for a turnout numbering in the thousands.
May’s installment of the festival lucked out with great weather, with colorful flags beckoning visitors to partake in home cooked sausages and watch demonstrations of Romanian folk dancing and cultural heritage. Weather this weekend looks welcoming, with sun, cool fall weather and a slight chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
