SPEAK OUT: Parking Relief At Bethesda Post Office?
Postal patrons can now park in the Adagio garage and have their tickets validated, The Gazette reports.
Patrons of Bethesda's new downtown post office are now able to park in the Adagio garage and have their parking tickets validated, The Gazette reports this week.
The garage is located at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Bradley Boulevard, beneath the Adagio condominium complex, PetSmart and CVS.
The United States Postal Service has been criticized by the community and U.S. Rep. Christopher Van Hollen (D) for opening the new Wisconsin Avenue post office with no dedicated parking. USPS closed the two downtown Bethesda post offices at 7001 Arlington Rd. and 7400 Wisconsin Ave. and consolidated them at the new location at 6900 Wisconsin Ave. early this summer.
Without parking, however, postal patrons were forced to hunt for metered spots or risk being towed from the lot for Mattress Discounters and Verizon next door. USPS has said it was unsuccessful in attempting to sublease parking from the lot.
