This Weekend: Hanukkah Celebrations and Talent Show

The editor's picks for the weekend of Dec. 3.

This weekend in Potomac is full of talented teens and Hanukkah celebrations.

For the second year, Winston Churchill High School students will be displaying their talent at "Churchill's Got Talent." The SGA is hosting the performance on Friday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Some of the acts range from singing and dancing to unicycling. Tickets are $10 at the door, with a $1 discount if you bring a canned food item for Churchill's annual Canned Food Drive.

As Hanukkah extends through next week, many of the local weekend events are centered around the holiday.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 15th Annual Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival is taking place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The drive-thruough light show, which takes place at Seneca Creek Park in North Potomac, has more than 380 illuminated displays. It costs $15 per car to enter the lights festival, but all proceeds from the event benefit local charities.

A Hanukkah laser light show, games and entertainment are part of the Hanukkah Lights Spectacular in Bethesda on Sunday. The Chabad of Bethesda-Chevy Chase is hosting the free event at Caroline-Freeland Urban Park and will also feature live music, a fire juggler, hot latkes and gelt.

Whatever your plans this weekend, send us your pictures and update us on your adventures.

Have a great weekend!
