Potomac residents can now drink their coffee at Starbucks and catch up on the local news because of a new partnership with Patch and the well-known coffee chain.

Starting Wednesday, a link to Patch.com will appear on the Starbucks Digital Network -- the page that appears when customers log onto the free wi-fi network at Starbucks stores. 

Internet-users will see a bar of colored tabs with Starbucks' recommendations for news, entertainment, wellness, business and careers, my neighborhood and updates about the coffee chain. The link to Patch is under the "my neighborhood" tab along with nonprofit, DonorsChoose.org; social networking site, Foursqare; and ratings and review site, Zagat.  

Potomac Patch will be accessible at these Starbucks locations:

• Starbucks Coffee in Potomac Village (10116 River Rd.)
• Starbucks Coffee in Cabin John Shopping Center (7911 Tuckerman Ln.)
