The Winston Churchill High School Ice Hockey Team defeated Easton, 6-1, to capture the Maryland High School Hockey Championship on Monday night, Feb. 25, 2013.
The game was played in front of a capacity and extremely loud and supportive Churchill crowd at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, MD. Churchill broke scoring and defensive records in the state tournament, out-scoring the opposition 28-1 in four playoff rounds.
The total team effort was led by seniors Zach Arden, Zach Satin, Connor Martin and Garrett Healy. All four seniors were credited with points. Underclassmen Ross Allen, Noah Fleishman, Ian Kwant and Philip Satin all chipped in points to help the Bulldogs dominate the Warriors.
This was Churchill's second championship in three years and, with only four seniors, the team is poised to dominate in years to come.
