Landon Lawsuit, Smart Duds and Beer for a Cause

Plus: Fine weather continues.

Here are five things to know in and around Potomac on Thursday, Aug. 15:

1.) Expect more nice weather on Thursday, with high temperatures in the upper-70s and no rain, The Weather Channel reported.

2.) The trial of a lawsuit alleging that private Bethesda boys' school The Landon School terminated the employment of an employee for reporting racially discriminatory behavior of other employees continues this week.

3.) Pick up some fresh produce, baked goods and more at the Potomac Village Farmers Market, held every Thursday, from 2 to 6:30 p.m. (rain or shine), in the parking lot of the Potomac United Methodist Church (9808 S. Glen Rd., Potomac, at the corner of the intersection of Falls Road and Democracy Boulevard).

4.) There's a new place for high-profile women to shop for high-quality business clothes: Nina McLemore, which donates some of its profits to charities.

5.) Happy hour for a cause: Belly up to the bar Thursday night, starting at 5 p.m., at Bethesda's Tommy Joe's (4714 Montgomery Ln.) to help support Bethesda Cares, which serves the area's homeless population.
