Good morning, Potomac! It’s Monday morning, and time to get your work week started with these “5 Things.” Among our offerings: weather, a recap of the weekend storm damage and what you can expect coming up this week.

1. The next week is calling for high temperatures and a chance of thunderstorms or rain. Highs will stay in the 90s, with lows dropping to the 70s. Today will bring mostly sunny skies with a chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Today’s high will be 93, with tonight’s lows dropping to 66.

2. Friday’s storm caused a lot of . Governor Martin O’Malley , as hundreds of thousands of people across the state . Authorities are asking residents to check on elderly or sick neighbors this week as high temperatures continue. after Friday’s storms.

3. Pepco has said it may take across the region. The plans to bring in mutual assistance crews from as far away as Oklahoma, and tree trimmers are due to arrive from the Carolinas.
