Good morning, Potomac, and welcome to Friday. Yes, Friday. Did the week seem to fly by for anyone else?

As usual, we’ve compiled your daily “5 Things” to help you get up and greet the day. Among today’s offerings: recaps from yesterday, weather, the day’s events a bit of quirky information.

1. Today we can expect our skies to remain partly sunny, with a high near 74, according to the National Weather Service. The evening may develop clouds, with a slight chance of rain and lows around 47. Sounds like a decent start to the weekend, right?

2. Stumped for things to do this weekend? Fear not! , featuring the and the Taste of Bethesda, among others.

3. Fall is in the air, and so is football. . Check back Saturday for highlights from the game.

5. In light of the recent baseball upsets half the world was tweeting about this week, Patch thought it would be nice to remember happier times in the game. On this day in 1927, Babe Ruth became the first baseball player to hit 60 home runs in a single season.
