Sunny weather and cave paintings make up a few of our favorite "5 Things" for the day.

Get ready to start another week, Potomac. Here’s hoping this week is a little sunnier than last, and according to the first of today’s “5 Things,” we’re already off to a good start:

1. Mostly sunny! Yep, that’s right. According to the National Weather Service, today should be mostly sunny, with highs near 83. There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, after 3 p.m. Lows may reach 61.

2. Did you miss the ? Did you go, but want to relive the excitement all over again? Don’t worry; this morning we have football highlights detailing the top action of the game.

3. What did you do this weekend? If you had the chance to enjoy some of the lovely sunny weather and managed to take pictures, send them over to Patch! This afternoon, we are posting a weekend highlights photo gallery, so be sure to check back.

4. Sept. 12, 1940 was a pretty cool day in history. In Lascaux, France, four young teenage boys discovered a cave full of Stone Age paintings. Have you ever made even a small historic discovery? Something interesting on a family tree? A special letter written to your grandmother? Let us know in the comments.

5. Yesterday we remembered the events of September 11, 2001. . Take a look, if you haven't already, at inspiring stories of personal strength.
