Mark Shriver will be on hand tonight at the Bethesda Public Library for a discussion of his recently released memoir “A Good Man: Rediscovering My Father Sargent Shriver.”
Released in July, the book tells the story of the relationship between Mark Shriver and Potomac’s Sargent "Sarge" Shriver, founder of the Peace Corps and architect of President Johnson's War on Poverty. Sargent Shriver died in 2011.
Marrying into the Kennedy family brought with it a world of expectations, but Sargent Shriver managed to keep his head up under the pressure and his eyes focused, Mark Shriver told The Daily Beast in an interview about the memoir.
Shriver’s discussion will begin 7:30 p.m. at the Bethesda Library, located at 740 Arlington Rd. For more information check out our event listing here.
