C&O Canal Benefit Sells Out

Park After Dark entertained guests well into Saturday evening.

The C&O Canal Trust hosted its largest event to date, allowing visitors

With nearly 250 guests in attendance, the was a sold out event. Featuring a chili buffet, free drinks, a live band, auctions and period photo opportunities, Park After Dark had guests laughing and dancing from start to finish.

"It was wildly successful," said Matthew Logan, president of the Canal Trust. "We sold out, we had a break in the weather; we had just great energy from all the folks that were there."

According to Logan, the benefit raised around $60,000 to support many of the programs in the park, including Canal Quarters, Canal Discoveries and volunteer programs.

“We're already making plans for Park After Dark for next year," Logan said. "So many people told us that if we did it next again year we needed to have a tent twice as big."
