New Location for Taste of Potomac

This year, the fundraiser will be held at the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center, rather than at a private estate.

The Taste of Potomac returns on June 8, from 7 to 11:30 p.m., to raise money—for the sixth year in a row—for Adoptions Together.

This year, though, it'll be held at the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center (11810 Falls Rd., Potomac), rather than at the private Potomac estate of Judy and Stuart Sebring, where it has been held for the past five years, Susan Belford reported for the Connection Newspapers.

The event will feature samplings from some of the Potomac area's finest restaurants, including "grilled lamb chops from Cava, tuna tartar from Hunter’s Inn, short ribs from Old Angler’s Inn [and] mini-indulgences from Seasons 52," along with a gourmet popcorn bar, lively disco music and dancing, according to Belford. See the full list of participating restaurants on the Adoptions Together website.

A live auction at the event will include restaurant gift certificates, tickets to the Late Night Show with David Letterman, hotel getaways, signed sports memorabilia and more. See a full list of live auction items on the Adoptions Together website.

Taste of Potomac raises money for Adoptions Together, a non-profit organization founded in 1990 to "[support] children and families formed through adoption, guardianship, foster care and kinship care with specialized services offered at locations in Maryland, Virginia and DC," its website states.

The organization is guided by "inclusivity: factors such as race, religion, marital status, wealth or sexual orientation don’t determine what kind of parent someone will be and they are never variables that we consider when finding a home for a child," its website adds.

Individual tickets for Taste of Potomac may be purchased for $125 each from the Adoptions Together website. Tickets at the door will cost $150.
