Potomac Club Helps New Residents Settle, Meet Friends

The Potomac Area Newcomers Club helps new residents meet friends and neighbors.

 

For some residents moving into a tight-knit community can be hard, especially when you're new to the area.

But as the Gazette reports, the Potomac Area Newcomers Club has been helping transplants blend in since 1966.

Now with 173 members, the group allows members from outside the Village of Potomac, President Pam Lemmonds told the Gazette.

The club offers members activities like book clubs, bridge, trips to musuems and even language clubs.

For those who spoke to the Gazette about the club, it "saved" them and helped them "gain a life."

There's a small due of $30 per year and anything unused is donated to charity, according to Lemmonds.
