Montgomery County Heritage Days Weekend

George Clinton Brings the Funk to Folklife
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Funk ambassador George Clinton opens the Smithsonian Folklife Festival’s evening concert series with a free show. 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, on the National Mall. Free. Also performing: Meshell Ndegeocello and Ivan Neville and Dumpstaphunk. Popular radio personality Tom Joyner hosts. The 2012 Smithsonian Folklife Festival is June 27–July 1 and July 4–8. Silverdocs Concludes Sunday
SILVER SPRING — AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Documentary Festival concludes Sunday, June 24, with the screenings of music docs, “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey” and “Big Easy Express.” Historic AFI Silver Theatre and surrounding venues.
