Artists and Copyright Protection
The Washington Water Color Association presents “What Artists Should Know About Copyright Protection,” featuring guest speaker attorney Barbara I. Berschler, a partner at the Bethesda law firm of Press, Potter & Dozier, LLC since 1985. Ms. Berschler, a nationally-know expert, has written extensively and made numerous presentations about copyright law and trademark protection. She is also a regular blogger and has a popular book, “The Business Owner’s Guide to Intellectual Property,” that can be downloaded online.
The Washington Water Color Association is one of the oldest societies of professional artists in the nation and can trace its beginnings to the late 19th century. Andrew Wyeth and Lois Mailou Jones are among the well-known artists who have exhibited works as Washington Water Color Association members.
