Nick's Organic Farm Tour & Farm Bill Workshop with Food and Water Watch

Join Food and Water Watch for a tour and Farm Bill workshop at Nick's Organic Farm. We'll talk about the importance of small-scale, organic farms to the rebuilding of our local food infrastricture and create community dialogue about and build popular power for a food system that benefits farmers, consumers, and the environment through the Farm Bill.

Nick’s Organic Farm has been located on Brickyard Road in Potomac, MD, for 30 years. It is one of the few organic farms in Montgomery County and the county’s only organic seed farm, providing non-GMO crop seeds to other farms in the area. This small-scale, local farm is also developing an on-site agricultural education center. However, Nick’s Organic Farm is currently being threatened. The county government wishes to end Nick’s lease and convert the 20 acres of farmland into soccer fields. Come out to learn about the campaign to save Nick's Organic Farm also!

This event is part of Food and Water Watch's Farm Bill Tour.  For more information please visit our website: http://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/food/fair-farm/road-trip/
