'Once on This Island' Comes to Connelly School of the Holy Child

will be transformed into a Caribbean island this weekend as the school’s drama department performs

The musical, which is directed by Elsbeth Fager, will have performances at the school on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and feature the talents of many local students. Dozens of Holy Child students are participating, in addition to guest performers from , Georgetown Prep, Bishop O’Connell and more.

The eight-time Tony nominated show tells the tale of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island send Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.

Tickets cost $5 for students and $10 for adults.
