Shades of Spring Art Show, Flower Market and More Near Potomac

Flower Avenue Outdoor Market

  • Description: The Flower Avenue Holiday Market returns as the Flower Avenue Market on April 7. It continues every Saturday through the end of the year, and Sundays may be added soon. More information available at www.floweravenuemarket.com.

Curry-Oke at Spice Xing

  • Where: Spice Xing, 100 Gibbs St., Rockville.
  • When: Friday, April 5, 9:30 p.m.
  • Description: Diners sing along to their favorite tunes from a selection of Hollywood and Bollywood beats. The $10 entrance fee to “Curry-Oke” may be applied to the cost of dinner and drinks that night.
  • Cost: $10.

Bread Baking 101

Three Little Birds: A New Reggae Children's Musical

  • Description: Play for ages 4 and up based on the story by Cedella Marley. Music and lyrics by Bob Marley, adapted for the stage by Michael J. Bobbitt.

  • Description: The Art League of Germantown presents its Annual Spring Fine Arts and Crafts Show as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations.

Germantown Community Flea Market

  • Description: More than 100 vendors with everything from household goods to jewelry and electronics. Sponsored by the Germantown Historical Society, The Menare Foundation and Boy Scout Troop 1325.

Afro Blue & Jazztet

  • Where: Blackrock Center for the Arts, 12901 Town Commons Dr., Germantown.
  • When: Saturday, April 6, 8 p.m.
  • Description: Howard University’s premier vocal jazz ensemble, Afro Blue, sings music in styles similar to Lambert, Hendricks and Ross; Manhattan Transfer; The New York Voices and Take 6, with their own twist. 
  • Cost: $23.

Earth Day Clean Up

  • Where: Kentlands Clubhouse, 485 Tschiffely Square Rd., Gaithersburg.
  • When: Saturday, April 6, 9 a.m.
  • Description: Bags, gloves, trash grabbers and a map of the area are provided. Any volunteer time spared is appreciated.
  • Cost: Free.

Rainbows and Lollipops Dance Party

  • Where: Dance Bethesda, 8227 Woodmont Ave., Bethesda.
  • When: Friday, April 5, 8 p.m.
  • Description: Beginner and intermediate lessons at 8 p.m.; dance party at 9 p.m. Dance to a mix of Latin, swing and ballroom music. Partner not required. Singles and couples welcome. Refreshments, drinks and prizes.
