Take Advantage of Summer Bedding Sales

Summer is a great time of year, including those wonderful summer sales. Want to freshen up a room, add some new colors or create totally different look? Now’s a good time to buy new bedding. Most stores that sell linens, bedding and pillows often hold sales during June, July or August, so keep an eye out for these happenings at your favorite shops.

Since the bed and bedding are usually the focal point of bedrooms, you can include as much or as little color as desired to set the mood. Use the comforter, quilt, duvet or blanket to create the base and then build your color scheme or look. Crisp, white linens give a hotel type of feeling. Or, try a cool blue/green with chocolate brown motif for a spa feel. Next, include a dustskirt, pillow shams, accent pillows or a footcover to add interest and complete your new look.

Additionally, a headboard can add to your scheme, especially if it’s an upholstered one. Artwork can also take the place of a headboard and contribute visual interest, depending on the subject matter.

Have fun creating a new look for a bedroom, which can bring about a happy and restful feel.
