What to expect from Behnkes on Potomac Patch, and a quick intro to Behnkes Nurseries of Potomac.
Behnkes Nurseries has been a Maryland-based business since 1930, and we’re big believers in localism. So of course we’re collectively thrilled to be a part of the Potomac Patch—the most promising development in local media in anyone’s memory.
Naturally, we’re pleased to announce that Behnkes will be contributing stories from our blog to Potomac Patch – stories about gardening in Potomac.

Launched in 2007, the Behnkes Blog serves many purposes, but especially helping gardeners in the metro area succeed at gardening. We also hope to attract more people to gardening, and then make sure they succeed, too. The blog also helps to connect gardeners with each other—through our features about organizations involved in gardening and greening and by displaying helpful links to them all in our sidebar.

What Behnkes Sells
Behnkes is an independent, family-owned, full-service garden center. We carry ornamental plants of all kinds, and vegetables, herbs and fruit trees, too, in the wide (and wise) selection that Behnkes has become known for. (Our motto is literally “Known for Quality Plants...for 80 years.” )
The Behnkes Florist Shop is a full-service florist—cut flowers, arrangements, events, the whole shebang—and it’s located in this cute little building next to our garden center on River Road.
Design and Landscaping, Too
Whatever your landscape project, it’ll be done correctly and safely to industry standards by the Behnkes design and install team, and we guarantee our work.
