Patch lists the deals and specials around Montgomery County for Black Friday.

 

While you prep your holiday feasts, Patch knows that Black Friday is creeping in on your mind, perhaps causing you to slip and forget to baste the turkey while day-dreaming of a new HDTV.

Fear not. We've compiled a listing of some of the hottest Black Friday deals around, so that you don't have to flip through listings on your own and then smear that lovely white holiday dishware with newspaper ink.

Westfield Montgomery Mall will open at 12:01 a.m. on Black Friday. The first 500 customers to stop by Westfield Concierge will receive a gift bag with prizes including gift cards from "select retailers," according to the mall's Black Friday event page on Facebook. One of these bags will include at $500 Westfield Gift Card.

Westfield Montgomery will also offer giveaways and prizes every hour until 6 a.m., as well as a chance to win one of three holiday shopping sprees worth up to $1,000.

All you crazy shoppers can enter now for a chance to win a "VIP Black Friday Shopping Experience" that includes one reserved parking spot, a gift bag, a $250 gift card, dinner for two and two free movie tickets.

A full list of Westfield Montgomery Mall's deals can be found on the mall's Facebook page, but here are some of our favorites:

  • Ann Taylor: 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. 40 percent entire purchase; 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. 40 percent off entire full priced purchase
  • Best Buy Mobile: Nook Simple Touch Reader $79.99, 8GB iPod touch 4th Generation with free $50 Best Buy gift card, ThunderBolt 4G LTE by HTC (Verizon Wireless) & Samsung Infuse 4G (AT&T) free with 2 year activation.
  • GAP: Up to 60 percent off entire store; 12 a.m. – 12 p.m. $19 Women’s jeans and sweaters (select styles) and $15 Kids and Baby Profleece Gap Arch Hoodies 
  • Macy’s: 12 a.m. – 1 p.m. Hundreds of specials throughout the store; Macy’s Cosmetics 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. free early bird facials, free gift with every purchase, Impulse Beauty 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. free 5 minute easy eye tricks and free gift with every purchase.
  • Old Navy: $5 graphic tees for the family, $5 fleece for kids, $10 kids jeans, $15 adults jeans. Plus, free Kodak EasyShare Sport Waterproof Camera with a purchase of $40 or more
  • Sephora: doorbuster deals, select brands offering 10 for $10 specials while supplies last. 
  • Rosetta Stone: $100 off five level language package 
  • Under Armour: Get a $25 UA gift card for every $150 you spend. 
  • United Colors of Benetton: 12 a.m. – 8 a.m. 30 percent off entire store, plus extra 10 percent off.

At Westfield Wheaton the first 500 customers will receive an exclusive reusable tote filled with a Black Friday Shopping Guide, goodies including gift cards, retailer samples and coupons.

Register from Midnight – 5 a.m. to win one of three holiday gifts valued at $2,000.


Here are some of our favorite deals:

  • Ruby Jewelers: Diamond Watches- $29.99, Starter Diamond Studs- $19.99
  • JCPenney (opening at 3 a.m.): 150 styles of women’s boots at $19.99 or $29.99; Xersion premium down coat for $39.88; Nerf, Barbie, and Fisher Price toys only $3.99

Check in on Foursquare between 4 a.m. - 1 p.m. and JCPenney will donate $25 to the Salvation Army up to $100,000.


Target, which opens at midnight in Wheaton and Rockville, is advertising deals on televisions, cameras, gaming systems and more.

  • A Westinghouse 46" LCD HDTV, regularly priced at $549.99, will be on sale for $298
  • Select movies will go for $1.99 (that is one dollar and ninety-nine cents), with other movie and tv-on-dvd choices ranging from $5.99 to $12.99
  • Kitchenaid Ultra Power Stand Mixer will be $199, regularly priced at $249.99.

Clothes, smaller appliances, toys, gizmos and other stuff is also on sale. Please try not to get crushed during the doorbuster rush. Also, try not to actually bust down the door.

Best Buy stores will open at 12 a.m. on Friday, though dealhunters can start shopping on bestbuy.com Thursday. Best Buy in Wheaton will screen "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" starting around 9 p.m. Friday. Giveaways and refreshments will start at 8 p.m.

Some the stores hot deals include:

  • At least 10 Sharp 42" Class LCD 1080p HDTVs will sell for $199.99 at each store location. A ticket is required to purchase this item in store and limited to one per customer.
  • At least 10 Samsung Laptops featuring an Intel® Pentium® Processor, 15.6" Display, 4GB Memory and a 320GB Hard Drive will sell for $299.99 at each store location. A ticket is required to purchase this item in store and limited to one per customer.
  • Amazon's Kindle Keyboard 3G will sell for $89.99, regularly priced at $139.99
  • Samsung washing machines and dryers will go for 50 percent off.
