Washingtonian Magazine reports that husband-and-wife team Valerie and Rick Dugan are putting the final touches on the first solo venture in their 25 years of Washington restaurant service. The restaurant, called The Grilled Oyster Company, will be located in the Cabin John Mall in Potomac. Bethesda and Chevy Chase residents may recognize the two from Clyde’s Restaurant Group and O’Donnell’s Sea Grill, the magazine reported.

Rick Dugan told Patch the restaurant will have a soft opening on Aug. 29, if all necessary permits come through. A grand opening celebration may be scheduled for a few weeks later. The restaurant will serve dishes such as grilled oyster, fish, crab, mussels and Old Bay fries. Washingtonian posted a tentative lunch menu on its website.

On a visit to snap a photo of the coming restaurant, Patch ran into Larry Miller inspecting the menu posted in the window of the restaurant. Miller said he definitely planned a visit when the restaurant opens to see if the execution lives up to the menu.

"Looking at this menu, it tells me that it will fit in very well with an urban shopping center," Miller said. "It's a nice mix. You have sandwiches, you have crabs, mussels and this Chesapeake Ciopino—hope it's good! If it's well seasoned, I'll be a regular."

Extra good news for area residents looking for work: Rick Dugan told Patch the restaurant is still looking for servers, bartenders and hostesses. To schedule an interview, email your resume to grilledoyster@verizon.net.
