Happy Hour Round-Up: Dollar Drafts

Check out our roundup of happy hour specials around the neighborhood, and tell us which are your favorites.

When are the happiest hours in Bethesda and Potomac?

Right after work of course, when the ties can loosen, the high heels kick off and when drinks and appetizers are half price. With hundreds of bars and restaurants to choose from, the selection can get overwhelming, but the only things that will overwhelm you about this week’s happy hour highlight are the deals.

The Wine Harvest in Park Potomac, located off Montrose Road near I270, is home to the dollar draft happy hour.

From 5-7 p.m. on Fridays, customers can partake in five house wines by the glass for $1.99 and 16-ounce drafts ranging from at $.99 to $2.75. Locals are starting to take notice.

Last Friday, the restaurant and specialty beer/wine store, had about 50 customers during the two-hour happy hour, according to manager Andrew Meyrowitz.

“Word of mouth has been very important,” Meyrowitz said. “We have a phenomenal community that we’re situated in and that likes to wind down after a heavy day.”

In addition to drink specials, the restaurant specializes in shareable snacks, including a variety of cheese plates.

“My favorite snack on our menu is the brie melt – a slice of baguette with melted brie and topped off with bruschetta, served with a handful of grapes for $7.50,” Meyrowitz said. “You can walk out of here during happy hour for $15, drinks and food for two.”

On another note, and not that we asked him, but Meyrowitz says that if you mention you saw this story on Patch he'll give you 5 percent off your bill, outside of happy hour times. The offer is good from 7 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Oct. 26.
