Potomac Chamber of Commerce Getting New Website

The chamber hopes a new interactive website will connect the community and local businesses.

This month, web developers will begin work on Potomac Chamber of Commerce’s new website — a resource the chamber hopes will be a better resource for the community and local businesses.

The Potomac Chamber of Commerce has a functioning website, but it doesn’t provide very much information for the community or about businesses that are members of the chamber, said Jennifer Matheson, the Director of Operations at Potomac Chamber of Commerce.

Timberlake Software will begin working on the chamber’s new website at some point in July in an effort to make their site more “user friendly and interactive,” Matheson said. The developers, which worked on the Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce website, will begin this month and will launch the new site in about eight weeks, Matheson added.

“We’re really hoping to make the site a place where businesses can update their profiles and submit local events and happenings in the area,” Matheson said. “We’re looking forward to being able to interact more with members and give them more information, too.”

Matheson said she hopes the site becomes a hub where people can learn about what’s going on in Potomac as well as what businesses are active in the area.

“Even though Potomac is a small area, we could be more on top of the news in the area and community events,” she said.
