Potomac residents may finally get a taste of the much-anticipated in April, when the restaurant is set to open for business for the first time.
Community members for months, after the planned restaurant was announced last January. Since the announcement, building and construction reviews pushed the business's opening back, but owner Jeff Grolig says he is ready to open his doors to curious Potomac residents in the last week of April.
"I suspect that for the first couple of months it'll be difficult to get in here," Grolig said. "We've been building for two years, there's a lot of anticipation."
Most of the construction went into expanding the shopping center to make room for restaurant seating. The new space will accommodate seating for 70 customers indoors and an additional 20 to 30 seats for customers outside, Grolig said.
The Tavern will serve lunch and dinner, as well as selections from a light-fare menu. Grolig said customers can expect the same high quality fare his businesses are known for, such as Company and . From bistro style salads at lunch to burgers and Grolig's staple crab cakes, restaurant-goers can expect high quality ingredients and American-style food with a twist.
"You can come in and get something to eat anytime," Grolig said. "Our focus is what we've done well for 12 years out here: high quality, American-style."
Keep checking back for a final decision on the opening date!
