Where to Find a Turkey in Potomac and North Potomac

Patch called around to some of the area grocery stores to see who still has turkeys and who is sold out.

 

Have you purchased your Thanksgiving turkey yet? If not, Patch has a rundown of the area's current turkey selection and grocery store openings on Thanksgiving.

Note: Turkey estimates are as of 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Store: will be open on Thanksgiving through 2 p.m. The store will open Friday at 8 a.m.

Turkey Selection: According to store employees, the meat department still has a decent selection of turkeys, though business may pick up later this afternoon.

 

Store: will be open on Thanksgiving from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Turkey Selection: According to store employees, the turkey selection is minimal and limited to smaller birds. The store may sell out within a few hours.

 

Store: Giant at Traville Gateway Drive will be open on Thanksgiving from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Turkey Selection: According to store employees, the meat department has 5 turkeys left. One weighs at 22 pounds, and the rest are around 21 pounds. 

 

Store: Safeway at Fallsgrove Shopping Center will be open in Thanksgiving from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Turkey Selection: According to store employees, the meat department is out of fresh turkeys, but does still have frozen birds.
