5 Things To Know This Week: Turkey Donations, Holiday Guide, Coat Drives and More

Check out our calendar for more of the week's events.

Good morning, Potomac! It’s Monday morning and time to get your week started with these “5 Things.” Among our offerings: weather, a recap of what to expect today and some notices for the week ahead.

1. We’re looking at some varied weather this week, with sun, cloudy skies, highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s. Today will be sunny with a high of 53, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight’s low will drop to 38.

2. Worried about holiday gifting already? We’ve got you covered: Browse through this holiday guide for inspiration each week as we update with posts from local artists and businesses, including the latest sales, with recipes and directions for homemade gifts and testimonials from local moms, dads, guys and gals about what they’re hoping to receive this year.

3. Weichert Realtors in Potomac is hosting a coat drive through Dec. 8 to collect coats for charity. The group is collecting coats for all ages and of all sizes. For more information on donating, visit the drive event listing on Patch here.

4. Manna Food Center — Montgomery County's largest food distribution center — will lend a helping hand to more than 300 families in need during Thanksgiving week. Community members can drop off turkey donations to Manna — located at 9311 Gaither Road in Gaithersburg — before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, and they will be passed out to families in need.
