A look at the things you need to know to stay informed in Potomac.

Start your morning out right with these five things you need to know today.

1. In what seems to be a weather rollercoaster, Potomac will heat back up today. It’s going to be partly sunny with a high near 61 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low around 44 degrees.

2. This evening, why not enjoy some pizza and help a good cause, too? is hosting a fundraiser at in Potomac this evening where a portion of the proceeds will go to CureSearch — the world’s largest children’s cancer research collaborative. Twenty percent from the restaurant’s dine in and carry out orders will go to CureSearch. Potomac Glen Day School’s fundraiser is in honor of Andrew Illig, who lost his battle with cancer on June 3, 2010, at the age of 13.

3. This week, the Rotary Club of Potomac is hosting a special guest. The Ambassador of Paraguay will make a stop at their , which will be held at at noon. Rotary club gives men and women an enjoyable and organized way to make a contribution to their community. Rotary members meet weekly to plan club, community and international service activities. 4. The safety of students around Prom and Graduation is a concern in the community and Wootton High School’s PTSA is hosting a . Parents and high school students are invited to attend this informational meeting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the school.

5. is hosting Senior Parent Night at 7 p.m. in the auditorium as a way to prepare and inform parents about all of the senior activities going on as graduation approaches.
