Good morning, Potomac and here are the five things you need to know today.

1. Embrace the sun today because it looks like it will be out in Potomac! According to the National Weather Service, it is going to be sunny, with a high near 40 degrees this afternoon. This evening, there will be a low around 25 degrees.

2. Do you have questions about the Montgomery County Public School system? You can have your chance to sit down with MCPS leaders and have your questions heard and better yet, answered. will go from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the MCPS building at 850 Hungerford Dr in Rockville. MCPS staff will be on hand to answer your questions and tell you more about services and programs available through the school system.

3. Are you still trying to figure out how you’re going to spend your weekend? If you’re looking for family-friendly events or something to pass the time, Potomac Patch has your weekend options in our and the feature. Both stories spotlight some of the great option for entertainment and relaxation in the community. 

4. Check back the site later today to read about a new way the is saving money. The community center is part of the pilot “finger vein scanner” program where community members can enter the center by having their finger scanned instead of presenting their membership card. If the Department of Recreation chooses to continue using the scanners, it could save the department $50 thousand a year.
