5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 18

Your daily digest of need-to-know information about Potomac.

Good Monday morning, Potomac! Time to start another week--so here are another five things you need to know today to stay on top of what’s going on in the community:

1. After a few days of respite the heat is creeping back in... today will be sunny, with highs in the mid 90s. Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy with a chance of showers after midnight. Lows will be in the 70s.

2. The is holding a Capital Budget Forum tonight, to get input on new facilities needs for the county. Residents of western Montgomery County are invited to attend tonight's forum, to be held at the center (4805 Edgemoor Lane, Bethesda). Suggestions may also be sent by e-mail to bethesda.citizen@montgomerycountymd.gov.

3. Police are investigating whether vandalism reported this weekend at North Bethesda Middle School is related to a Potomac vandalism case, which occurred earlier last week at . Both incidents included the use of paint, ethnic slurs and sexually-descriptive drawings. Stay tuned to Patch for any updates on the investigations. 4. Ever want to be in a TV commercial? If you didn't see the story, Old Angler's Inn will be shooting a video tomorrow for an upcoming commercial. Participants will receive a free cocktail and can enjoy food and drink specials during the shoot. Move quickly if you're interested--volunteers will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
