The things you need to know to stay informed about what's up in Potomac.

Wake up and smell the coffee! We don’t want you falling behind when it comes to local news, so catch up with these five things you need to know today.

1. Expect clouds over Potomac as there is a chance of rain and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. and again before 2 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise the day will be partly sunny with a high near 89 degrees and a low around 71 degrees.

2. The Rotary Club of Potomac is having their at noon at . This week, members will be sharing videos and speeches from the International Conference, which took place in New Orleans. Rotary club gives men and women an enjoyable and organized way to make a contribution to their community. Rotary members meet weekly to plan club, community and international service activities. 4. The deadline is approaching to apply to be a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Firefighter/EMT Recruit. The online application for MCFRS Firefighter/EMT (recruit) will close on July 8. If you have the required certifications, and wish to apply, please complete your online application immediately and follow all instructions for sending in your transcripts and certifications.
