Don’t get behind when it comes to what’s happening in your own backyard—use these five things to stay informed about Potomac and what’s going on today.

1. It looks like another rainy day, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the area after 11 a.m. and again in the evening, according to the National Weather Service. The day’s high will be around 93 degrees and the low will be near 68 degrees.

2. Don’t let a little rain deter you from swinging by the , for some fresh fruits, veggies and more! The market goes on from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the . The weekly market brings local vendors—like McCleafs Orchard, Rocklands Farm, Alliaabad Farm, Garden Path Farms and more—to the church’s parking lot with a variety of items.

3. Don’t let boredom set in over the summer—keep the kids involved and interested with at the . The story time will go on from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. and will feature stories, songs and rhymes for the whole family. It’s a free event that’s appropriate for all ages.

4. Get ready to belt your favorite tunes at another Karaoke Night at . Come to the beer garden at 8 p.m. and enjoy some songs, some laughs, some drinks and, of course, some delicious food. Karaoke will go until 10 p.m.

5. See the color and beauty of nature through art at a new exhibit at the Art Gallery of Potomac. From noon to 4 p.m. see an art show featuring renowned local artists Claire Howard and David Therriault. Howard’s painting complement Therriault stone garden sculpture. Admission is free.
