5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 10

Graduation ceremonies, an art show and possible showers are among the five things to know today.

Rise and shine, Potomac. It’s another day with five things you’ll need to stay informed about what’s going on in the community.

1. Rain may be hitting the area so be sure to grab your umbrella. There’s a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, according to the National Weather Service. Rain is likely again this evening. The day’s 91 degrees and the low will be around 72 degrees.

Congratulations to the class of 2011, especially those graduating today! is having their graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. at the school with 19 students graduating. is hosting their ceremony at the Washington National Cathedral at 10 a.m. with 66 students graduating. 3. See the color and beauty of nature through art at a new exhibit at the Art Gallery of Potomac. From noon to 4 p.m. see an art show featuring renowned local artists Claire Howard and David Therriault. Howard’s painting complement Therriault stone garden sculpture. Admission is free.
