5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 14

The information you just can't go on without knowing in Potomac.

Rise and shine, Potomac! It’s another day with another five things to know in the community.

1. It looks like it will be a fair day in the area as the National Weather Service is predicting it will be mostly sunny with a high near 78 degrees. This evening, it will be mostly cloudy with a low around 56 degrees.

2. Get in touch with your green side at a local movie screening at . From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., there will be a an eco documentary. Paul Tukey — an advocate for natural lawn care, the producer and star of the movie — will appear at the session.

3. Congratulations to the graduates of the class of 2011 at ! Potomac Patch was there to document the exciting day in photos and video. In case you missed it, there is a video of an excerpt from the commencement speech given by PostSecret Founder Frank Warren. 4. Get to know the new Montgomery County Public School superintendent at a in Rockville. The event, which will begin at 7 p.m., will allow the community to meet and get to learn more about him. Starr will begin his duties as superintendent on July 1.

5. The Potomac Lions Club is at the . The Potomac Lions Club is a group of men and women who work together to give back to the society and community.
