5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 30

Wake up and smell the coffee! It’s another day in Potomac with even more information you need to know to keep you informed about what’s happenin’ in the community.

Komen Foundation. Between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., stop by the salon and pamper yourself and not only will you be helping Susan G. Komen Foundation, but also receiving complimentary drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a gift bag.

3. It may be summer time, but kids can still learn about science in a fun way at the . Mad Science of Washington will be presenting at the library from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The show, which is free and good for kids from kindergarten through elementary school age, will feature bubbling potions, cool chemicals and more.

4. On this beautiful day, why not take some time today to peruse the local vendors at the , which goes on from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the . The weekly market brings local vendors — like McCleafs Orchard, Rocklands Farm, Alliaabad Farm, Garden Path Farms and more — to the church’s parking lot with a variety of items.
