You don’t want to be out of the loop about what’s going on in your community, so keep up with the most important things you need to know today in Potomac.

1. If you’re grateful for “Green Eggs and Ham,” crazy for the “Cat in the Hat” or a lover of “The Lorax,” get out and read them today to celebrate Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss's birthday. The National Education Association’s Read Across America Day is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of the famous children’s author Dr. Seuss. In honor of the day, stop by the and check out a Seuss classic or swing by the Long Brach Library for a Green Eggs and Ham breakfast special.

2. It’s looking like it will be a pretty nice day in Potomac. Expect sun, a high near 56 degrees and winds up to 13 miles-per-hour in the area, according to the National Weather Service. Not bad!

3. If you’re in the mood for a burger and fries, why not help out a local elementary school while you dine? is , 10414 Auto Park Ave. in Bethesda. Stop by any time between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. today and 20 percent of the store’s sales will benefit the school’s technology program.

4. Speaking of food, Chicken Out Rotisserie introduced its special promotion for March, which is buy any buffet and add an additional homemade side, garden salad or Caesar salad of the same size for free!
