Good morning, Potomac! Don’t get left behind when it comes to your local news — use these five things to make sure you’re on top of what’s up in the community.

1. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting tired of the clouds and rain. Today there will be a chance of showers before 8 a.m. and the day will remain mostly cloudy with a high near 47 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. This evening will be partly clouding with a low around 27 degrees.

2. It’s getting hot tonight and the is responsible. The fire department, which has a station in Potomac, is hosting their first annual Firefighter Bachelor Auction at the K Street Lounge in Washington, D.C.

From 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the firefighters will be there raising money for the department with drink specials like $3 beer and $5 wine. The auction starts at 9 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online, so hurry there and don’t miss this fiery event.

3. If you have a little one, stop by the today for . The event, which starts at 10:30 a.m. and goes until 11 a.m., will feature stories and songs for the kiddos and their caregivers. It’s recommended for ages 1 to 3 years old. No registration is required, so swing on by.

4. If you’re looking for a little entertainment, take the kids to the performance of at Glen Echo Park.  The show adapted from the book by Laura Numeroff will begin at 10:30 a.m. and costs $15 for a ticket.

5. Spring is on its way and there is no better way to welcome the warmer weather than with a spa treatment.
