5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 11

Your daily digest of need-to-know information in Potomac.

You’re halfway through the week so don’t let this day drag on. Get up and get informed about what’s going on in your community — hopefully it will hope the day go by faster! Here are the five things you need to know today.

1. In a series of beautiful days, it’s nice to add another! Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 76 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. This evening it will be partly cloudy with a low around 53 degrees. Expect a light wind throughout the day.

2. Come support this evening and have a fun time with games, activities and food, too. The is going on from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school and will feature a moonbounce, climbing wall, rides, slides and carnival games. Also, there will be Chick-fil-a, pizza and ice cream for sale. The ticket sales benefit the Potomac Elementary Technology fund.

3. The West Montgomery County Citizens Association is hosting and open forum on Potomac issues and concerns at 7:15 p.m. at the . The meeting will concentrate on some local topics, such as the , but will mainly invite the community share their thoughts and concerns. Be sure to swing by because it is the last general meeting until October.

4. If you want to enjoy the weather and get a great meal, stop by and dine on the patio. Happy hour starts at 4:30 p.m. and has $5 food and drinks. Stick around for dinner for the lobster specials, which costs $19.95.
