Things you MUST know to get through the day in Potomac.

Wake up and smell the coffee, Potomac. It’s another day with another five things you need to know to keep you informed and get you up to speed about what’s going on in the community.

1. It’s going to be a gorgeous day in Potomac with a chance of showers late tonight. Crank up that air conditioning because the day’s high will be 89 degrees and the low will be around 69 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. However, things could cool down as there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 p.m.

2. Start the morning off right with some music performed by the students at the . The fifth and sixth grades are hosting theirspring concert at 9 a.m., so stop by the school to check it out.

3. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, WSSC will offer a rare look inside its Potomac Water Filtration Plant this morning and Potomac Patch will be there to give readers the inside look, too. WSSC will share information about the plant’s new ultraviolet disinfection system—which will help provide safe, clean and reliable water to the residents of Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. 4. Good news for Potomac residents who are planning on traveling over the Memorial Day weekend: gas prices are on their way down after a period of incline. Gas prices in the area have risen more than a dollar per gallon in the past six months, according to AAA. But in the past seven days, they’ve dropped about 11 cents per gallon. about gas prices and expectations for this weekend’s travel on the site.
