On this day, thousands of communities take time to honor their local educators and acknowledge the crucial role teachers play in making sure every student receives a quality education, according to the National Education Association’s website. Share how you are appreciate teachers today!

2. Rain could be in the forecast today in Potomac. There is a 20 percent chance of showers after noon and an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms at night, according to the National Weather Service. The day will be partly sunny, with a high near 81 degrees and the evening will have a low around 52 degrees.
