The five things you need to know this Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day, Potomac! As Memorial Day weekend comes to an end, be sure to start the day off right with these five things you need to know.

1. It’s a perfect day to barbeque or relax by the pool, but don’t forget your sunscreen! It’s going to be sunny with a high near 92 degrees and a low around 72 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. 

2. Montgomery County government will observe the holiday, so many agencies will be closed or have modified hours:

  • County Offices- closed
  • Libraries- closed
  • County liquor stores- open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the exception of the following stores, which will be closed: Burtonsville, Cabin John and Diamond Square
  • Ride On – Sunday schedule
  • Metrobus – Sunday schedule
  • Metrorail – Sunday schedule
  • TRiPS Commuter Stores (Silver Spring and Friendship Heights) – closed
  • Refuse/recycling pickup – no collection
  • Transfer Station – closed
  • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free
  • MCPS Administrative Offices – closed
  • State offices & courts – closed
